Sure no shooting makes dealing with speeders a bitch but no army can touch the level of combat power I have.  Well maybe tyranids, pure khorne, or orks but whatever lol.  Maybe skarbrand could bite me in the ass, but I no longer fear vehicles moving 12".  I can catch them with my speed and now I can hit them.

Thoughts?

  1. I think it's just crazy enough to work! If you're going to bring Skarbrand, you might as well go all out, and you have. The only problem I see is being too effective at close combat, winning outright and getting shot up during the opponent's shooting phase. Then again, 20 seekers are going to multi-assault like crazy. Skarbrand can be thrown into rocks, blanketing himself with SS/TH terminators.

  2. I don't usually have that problem. I often hit like a vet squad or 5 man tactical with say 2 bloodletters or a fiend, then multicharge a tank with the rest. I usually wreck the tank, dont lose combat, but dont win big enought to cause them to run away either, then pile into them and finish them on their turn. I've been trying that tactic out for months and it never fails!

  3. I've never run Skarbrand before -- always been wary of the double-edged nature of his impact. But I have to say, the idea of using him to insure getting hits on vehicles even when their moving at high speeds never occurred to me. I'm very curious to hear how this list concept plays out.

  4. Tested it against my friend Vinny, or kirika over on dakka. I got the rigth wave, but only 1 squad of bloodletters came in turn 2, meaning no support. Also turn 3 when my seekers came in the scattered 10 inches and mishapped. I was still able to won on objectives barely, but it wasn't a very good test. I did come to the realization that against shooty armies like IG, or razorwolves, giving them re rolls to hit doesn't really make a difference which is nice.

  5. I've had this question all day and I don't want to dismiss it outright, but I should preface it by saying I've been on sinus medication all day. Is it possible that Skarbrand could make Daemonettes viable? With Fleet plus the highest Init and most base attacks for Troops, it almost makes sense! Then I came to realize they're the only Troops who could take out Walkers. But yes, there are many reasons they are also the cheapest Troops this side of Nurglings...

  6. To follow up on my previous comment, I removed 2 Screamers from each squad, so that a Daemonette list could look something like this. Evaluate.

4 fewer Screamers, 1 more Troops choice.

  7. It deffinitely works, that's for sure. I like bloodletters because they add power weapons which really is how we deal with deathwing. Also I don't know if dropping screamers is the right move, since you really need the anti land raider that they offer up.
