Colonial GT list

So, as much as I wanted to run tyranids, I can't find a build that I'd like to bring to this GT in time.  I'm not giving up by any means, but since I have to have my list submitted in a week or two (I should really check lol) I've decided to go with what I know.  Not to mention that this may very well be the last time I run demons thanks to new grey knights, but lets keep our fingers crossed.

Also a good friend of mine Chris Nanry is running the event and all the competitive north eastern guys are coming out to this, and since I live 30 minutes from this GT I have an incesant urge to beat the crap out of all of them haha.

So what I'm thinking

HQ
Herald of tzeentch- charriot bolt master 100
Herald of tzeentch- charriot bolt master 100

Elite
6 Fiends 180
6 Fiends 180
6 Fiends 180

Troops
7 Bloodletters- Icon 137
7 Bloodletters- Icon 137
7 Bloodletters 112
7 Bloodletters 112
7 Bloodletters 112

Fast
5 Sceramers 80
5 Screamers 80
20 Seekers 340

1850 on the nose.  Aside from an ork horde with tons of lootas and shootas, tyranids, and land raider spam there really isn't a single build out there that scares me.

What do you think?

  1. I would love to provide you valuable input but my roommate plays demons and I have not had my hand at them yet.

You have a lot of fast assaults to fill in or counter with the massive number of power weapon attacks. that is a flood of assault. lol

As far as I can tell that looks pretty stout aslong as your Chariots/screamers don't get focused down quickly are my thoughts. the change of immobilizing a vehicle before it gets assaulted is huge for your AT for the Chariots.

unless of course you don't use them much for that.

  2. I like using my charriots to immobiize or preferably destroy a vehicle so it's either easier to hit or so I can smash into its contents. They also have a purpose of hitting things that show up behind me like vendettas. They save me the time of having to turn around to deal with them.

I don;t really need the charriots as part of my plan at all, and the screamers are only necessary when I fight against land raiders. Otherwise it's all expendable.

  3. I figured that is the use of the chariots as they are terrible for anything other then blasting things apart. I do really like them. My roommate has built a few so far and is starting to work with them.

What generally would be your ideal 1st wave and what to follow?

  4. My ideal first wave would probably be something like 2 fiend units, or 1 fiend and 1 seeker, 3 bloodletter squad (1 with icon), and either both charriot, or both screamers, or one and one. So pretty much both waves are balanced out completely.

But, against someone with not much long range fire power, but tons of short range power I'd probably go balls to the wall with all my fiends and seekers in my preffered wave, and bloodletters and stuff in the second. That way I can either overload him and blitz him right off the bat, or I can deep strike defensively and wait it out. You can see my latest battle report against footdar for a good example of this.
